Mitre Square is a square in London, United Kingdom.
History
On 30 September 1888, the square was where the rogue British Assassin Jack the Ripper murdered two Assassin initiates who were impersonating the prostitutes Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes. Their teacher and Master Assassin Jacob Frye, alerted of the murders,[1] travelled to the scene to investigate and lure out Jack.[2] After Jack took control of Jacob's Rooks, he established an illegal fight club near the square. In October, the Metropolitan Police Service's Inspector Frederick Abberline requested Jacob's sister Evie Frye to shut down the club.[3]
