Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (29 September 1547 – 22 April 1616), sometimes Anglicized as Michael Cervantes, was a Spanish writer who is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the Spanish language and one of the world's pre-eminent novelists.
He was the author of the novel Don Quixote. During the writing of the novel, Cervantes was majorly influenced by Joanot Martorell's Tirant lo Blanch.
