We should probably just get rid of "Assassin's Creed voice work" takes up way more space in the infobox than just "Assassin's Creed work"

Michael Antonakos (born 1982) is a Greek actor who provided the voice for the character Alexios in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Biography

Early life

Michael Antonakos was born on 21 October 1982 in Athens, Greece. At the age of three he moved to Canada with his family. In his youth he performed primarily with the Rocky Mountain Shakespeare Company, in Lake Louise, Alberta.[1]

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Michael Antonakos was approached by Ubisoft before May 2017 to voice the character of Alexios in the then-upcoming Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.[2] In the auditioning phase Ubisoft gave Michael a concept image of Alexios for him to build a voice and character around. Michael cited Ezio, Batman and Wolverine as inspirations for the voice of the character. After being officially hired and given a full backstory about Alexios, Michael began further developing his portrayal. He found Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" to be a great driving force behind finding Alexios' physicality.[3]

When revealed not to be the canon character, Michael expressed disappointment but remained jovial about the matter.[4]

Personal life

He has been married to actor and costume designer Tara Newstead since 2 April 2011.[1] The couple have a child together (born c. 2016).[3] In 2019, the couple moved to Vancouver together, and in August while staying at a friend's cabin met a cougar who trapped them inside until it left.[5]
