Angelos Cave was a small cave located in Affluence Bay on the eastern coast of the Greek island of Chios.
During the Peloponnesian War the cave was visited by the misthios Kassandra, who found a treasure within.[1]
Trivia
- Ἄγγελος (ángelos) is the Greek word meaning 'messenger', the source of the English word angel. It was also the name of a lesser known daughter of Zeus and Hera who became known as a chthonic deity.
- Angelos was also the name of a noble lineage of Greeks, of which three became Byzantine emperors.
