The Mercenary Helmet was a type of helmet commonly worn by mercenaries in ancient Greece during the 5th century BCE. Adorned with a griffin and a fine crest, the helmet was a classic.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found this helmet in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes
The Mercenary Helmet, a headgear in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, is part of the iconic outfit worn by the Eagle Bearer in the promotional material, when the Mercenary Hood is not used.
The design of the Mercenary Helmet is based on the Korinthian Helmet, another helmet in the same game.
