The Mercenary (real name Rocco Tiepolo) is a multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and a unlockable character. He wields a short sword. To be unlocked the player has to be at level 45. The Mercenary looks like a young Mario Auditore
In Project Legacy, Fiora Cavazza is sent to Tiepolo's camp to select mercenaries for Cesare Borgia's army. They get along well and he displays extensive knowledge of his men's skills. After Fiora betrays all of Cesare's agents to the assassins, Rocco is the first to be targeted because a large number of his mercenaries are working for Cesare. Tiepolo is eventually killed in battle with the assassins after they had killed many of his men.
