Melina the Hibiscus (unknown – 48 BCE) was an Egyptian resident of Krokodilopolis in the Faiyum Oasis, during the reign of Ptolemy XIII.
Biography
In 48 BCE, Melina plotted with Sehetep, a priest from the Temple of Sobek, in his attempts to increase offerings from the residents in the city. To that end, Melina was hired to poison the sacred crocodiles in the temple including Petsuchos. Her act was eventually discovered by the Medjay, Bayek, who infiltrated the Neorion Naval Arsenal and assassinated her.[1]
