Andrea Pisano (1290 – 1348) was an Italian sculptor and architect. In 1340, Andrea succeeded Giotto di Bondone as architect of the Campanile part of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore.[1] He later died in 1348 due to the Black Death and the work on the tower was taken over by Francesco Talenti.[2]
