The manta rays (Manta) are a genus of huge rays.
History[edit | edit source]
Living in warm tropical and sub-tropical seas, manta rays were encountered by both Kassandra at the times of ancient Greece and pirates Edward Kenway and Alonzo Batilla during the Golden Age of Piracy. Kassandra encountered them during her dives in the Mediterranean Sea[1] and Edward during his in the Caribbean Sea,[2] while Alonzo fished for them.[3]
Although manta rays are very big, they do not pose a threat to humans and only eat fish and plankton.[1][2][4] [3]
