King Lud was a legendary king of the Britons in pre-Roman times who was allegedly the founder of the city of London.

The 1st century Roman settlement Londinium had a wall with six gates built into it, one of which was named after King Lud. The gates were later renovated in the 16th century with sculptures of King Lud and his sons.[1]
