A pendant depicting the goddess Freyja / c. Viking Age

Freyja was the most gifted among the Norse gods at seiðr; the art of divination, or prophecy. Seiðr allowed one to travel beyond space and time to catch a glimpse of what Fate had in store. Odin learned how to see the future from Freyja.

Freyja also had an unusual way of getting around. Legend has it that she loved to surround herself with cats. In fact, her chariot was pulled not by horses, but by two massive blue and grey cats—gifts from the Norse god of thunder, Thor.

This pendant representing the goddess could have been used in ceremonies or offerings to honour her.
