A laser array is a pistol-like device used by the modern day Assassins. Essentially a laser pointer, directing the laser into the eyes of others would cause temporary blindness. The Assassin Griffin had a few in his hideout, and would later show the teenagers Owen Meyers and Javier Mondragón its uses.[1]
Description
The laser array was shaped like a pistol with a common grip and trigger mechanism. Upon firing into an enemy's line of sight, it would deliver a powerful ray of light that would blind and incapacitate them for several minutes.[1] Although unsure of its range, Owen once surmised when in a hiding spot that the beam would not reach the nearest guard who was still some distance away. The array also had a power source with a finite amount of life, as it was completely drained after more than fifteen uses.[2]
History
In October 2016, while preparing for a rescue mission of a group of teenagers trapped in the Abstergo Industries' facility called The Aerie, Owen Meyers grabbed a laser array after Griffin showed him what it was and how to use it.[1] Together, Owen and his friend Javier infiltrated the Aerie. Owen used it to blind the guards and Javier tranquilized them with his hybrid crossbow-pistol. They later reunited with Sebastian Monroe, but all three were soon captured by the defected-Instruments of the First Will member Isaiah and Abstergo forces.[2]
