Kyniska (born c. 440 BCE) was the daughter of King Archidamos of Sparta.

She was the first woman in history to win at the Olympic Games, having won the chariot racing event in the 396 BCE and 392 BCE games. Her victories made her world famous, which led to a statue of herself and her horses being erected within the Sanctuary of Olympia. After her death, she was honored as a hero in Sparta and a shrine was built therein in her honor.[1]
