The Korinthian Helmet was a type of helmet used during the 5th century BCE, named after its original home of Korinthia, Greece. During the Peloponnesian War, Spartans, who were allies of Korinthia, utilized this helmet for many for their foot soldiers.
History
The Spartan misthios Kassandra found this helmet in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]
Despite becoming militarily obsolete, this helmet was still worn for aesthetic reasons by gladiators like The Hoplite and bodyguards like Hypatos in Ptolemaic Egypt.[2]
