The Keres were a group of death-spirits in Greek mythology, who personified violent death.
They were often drawn to cases of violent death, like battlefields. As daughters of Nyx, the Keres were sisters of the Fates and Thanatos.
Legacy
When Spartan misthios Kassandra travelled to Aletheia's simulation of the Underworld, Phoibe went to search for the Keres to save a woman who was hurt during an attack by the men of the Cyclops of Kephallonia. Rumors claimed the Keres lived at Salmoneus' Hubris in the northern part of The Scorched Lands.[1]
