A view of the Kerameikos quarter
"Pots, pots, and more pots."
Kassandra[src]

Kerameikos is an area of Athens, Greece located to the northwest of the Akropolis Sanctuary.

In classical antiquity, the area housed a number of pottery workshops which gave the quarter its name. It was also known for the brothels that surrounded the quarter. The gate through which the Sacred Way between the acropolis and the Sanctuary of Eleusis passed was also located within the Kerameikos quarter.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the quarter was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
