Jonas was a merchant from Kyrenia. A man claiming to be Barnabas, a Resistance Leader, claimed Jonas to be a traitor, though in reality, this was a lie, and the real Barnabas had been executed and replaced by the Templars. His death at the hands of Altaïr triggered a riot because of his respected status in Cypriot society.
