The Janissaries (Ottoman Turkish: Yeniçeri) are the Ottoman Empire's special trained soldiers and the private guard to the Sultan. During Ezio's time in Constantinople, the Janissaries actively sought to prevent Ezio Auditore da Firenze from locating the Seals of Altaïr that were scattered throughout the city. Eventually Ezio killed off one of their high commanding officers, forcing them to resort to Golden Horn in their efforts to prevent him from escaping the city. However, this ulitmately failed.[1]
Trivia
- The Janissaries appear to so far be a somewhat replacement of the Papal Guards in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
