The Isthmian Games were a sporting event held within Isthmus of Poseidon in Korinthia a year before and a year after the Olympic Games of the Sanctuary of Olympia in Elis, Greece.
The Isthmian Games were established by the founder of Korinth Sisyphos to honor Melikertes, a prince of Boeotia who was deified after his death.[1]
