Since Islamic sites and peoples appear so much in the series, we actually should have an article on this. We don't have to get too much into its theology, but Islam & Christianity alike are referenced a lot in the series.

Islam is a monotheistic religion which originated in Arabia and is dominant in the Middle East. Its adherents are commonly known as Muslims, [citation needed] but during the Crusades, they were also conventionally called Saracens by their Christian enemies.[1] To the Spaniards during the Reconquista, they were often referred to as Moors and conflated with Arabs and African peoples alike.[2]

Mosques, which are places of worship for this faith, are prominent features in cities which have historically boasted a prominent Islamic presence or which have been influenced by Islamic culture.[1][3]

War on Terror

The main muslim states in modern times have problems facing the fanatics in the Middle East. Currently, at Syria, a  civil war is still existing in the country. The Americans involved in this conflicts to wipe out all terrorist organizations, as they fought a war in Iraq against Sadam Hussein. The outcome is still unknown.
