The Iron Gate was one of the gates of Baghdad, located in the northwest of the Harbiyah district.
In the 860s, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq visited the gate and the surrounding area, including the Damascus Gate Prison, in his search to locate the Zanj rebel's leader Ali ibn Muhammad.[1]
