Humbaba, also known as Humbaba the Terrible, was a monstrous giant and demon in ancient Mesopotamian mythology who guarded the Cedar Forest.
According to legend, the Sumerian king, Gilgamesh, fought against and slew Humbaba in combat, and later forged the sword called Humbaba's Fang from the giant's tooth, which later ended up in Egypt during the 1st century BCE.
