Humbaba, also known as Humbaba the Terrible, was a monstrous giant and demon in ancient Mesopotamian mythology who guards the Cedar Forest.
According to legend, the Sumerian king, Gilgamesh, fought against and slew Humbaba in combat, and later forged a sword from the giant's tooth, which later ended up in Egypt during the 1st century BCE.
