Humbaba, also known as Humbaba the Terrible, was a monstrous giant in ancient Mesopotamian mythology.

According to legend, the Sumerian king, Gilgamesh, fought against and slew Humbaba in combat. The king would later forge a sword from the giant's tooth, which later ended up in Egypt during the 1st century BCE.
