Hughes (died 1715) was a pirate and the helmsman for Captain Abel Bramah's brig, the Jacobite.
In June 1715, the Royal Navy frigate HMS Intrigue engaged the brig in combat off the coast of Cape Bonavista on the island of Cuba. Hughes died during the attack and was briefly substituted by Edward Kenway before the ship's gunpowder magazine exploded, killing everyone aboard save Kenway and the British Assassin Duncan Walpole.[1]
