Hiro Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. During the Sengoku period, it was situated north of Kumano Nachi Taisha in Kii Province.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke searched near the shrine with Junjiro to find his former mentor Sorin. Finding stairs going below the shrine, they soon located and greeted Sorin. While Junjiro and Yasuke left to garner more resources for Sorin, the monk spoke with Naoe about how she knew what he had done for her and Junjiro. Sorin ultimately explained that they were better off together while Naoe asked about his current pilgrimage, leading Sorin to thank her for caring about him.[1]
