Hippomedon was an Argolian champion who was one of the Seven Against Thebes, which allowed him to rise to fame.

Known for his gigantic size, Hippomedon also owned a palace which was located southwest of Argos. By the Peloponnesian War, the palace had been mostly reduced to a ruin and taken over by bandits. The Spartan misthios Kassandra also explored the place.[1]
