Heralds are men who tell the populations of cities about recent news, laws, taxes, executions, etc. They came about due to the lack of an effective means of information transfer, and were precursors to today's communication system.

Heralds will appear on the map as long as Ezio's notoriety is not at 0%.

If you use Eagle Vision, Heralds are highlighted in blue if they are talking about ordinary events. If they are telling people about you (mostly lies and slander), then they are seen in red. They are also on the map as icons.


Trivia

  • The money that you bribe the herald with can be stolen back from him, however, doing so will increase Ezio's notoriety by a small amount.
  • Another option is to kill the herald without alerting the guards. You need to kill them to get money after you have used him.
