Henry VIII (1491 – 1547), born Henry Tudor, was King of England from 21 April 1509 until his death. He was the son of Henry VII, and the father of Mary I and Elizabeth I, who both became Queens of England. He was also the second king of the House of Tudor.
In 1542, Henry ordered the construction of a church in hopes of keeping the funeral processions of plague victims passing through his home in Whitehall. This church was eventually replaced and rebuilt in the 18th century by James Gibbs, named [St Martin-in-the-Fields]].[1]
Legacy
In 2012, Henry was one of many historical people included in the Glyph puzzles the late Assassin Clay Kaczmarek had left behind in the Animus as messages for his successor Desmond Miles to decipher. Desmond later did in September of that year.[2] Desmond solved this puzzle, which was part of a set titled "Instruments of Power" where Henry was excluded from the list of historical individuals revealed by Clay to have possessed a Shroud of Eden.[3] Later that year, he was also included in a mnemonic set in Abstergo Industries' Project Legacy.[4]
