Alkathous was the son of Pelops in Greek mythology, known for building temples of Apollo and Artemis in the city of Megara. He was also the grandfather of the hero Ajax.
After his death, he was buried in a tomb the west of the city; it was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.[1]
