Alkahest is a substance theorized by alchemists to be a universal solvent, which was supposed to be capable of dissolving any other substance, without altering or destroying its basic components.
History
In the 1520s, alkahest was utilized during an experiment to craft the Philosopher's stone, between the Swiss scientist Bombastus and the Assassin Giovanni Borgia. The substance was also used to brew panacea, with the use of other necessary materials.[1]
