Hagia Sophia (Ottoman Turkish: Aya Sofya, Greek: Ἁγία Σοφία, "Holy Wisdom") was a former Eastern-Orthodox basilica located in the Imperial district of the city of Constantinople. Following the fall of Constantinople in 1453, the Hagia Sophia was converted into a mosque.
