Gygr was one of Suttungr's Outriders, a secretive group of Jötnar spies and warriors, who invaded Svartálfaheimr during the warlord Surtr's invasion.
Biography
Gygr accompanied his leader Riekr to Svartalfheim and then left to the northeastern part of Vangrinn. He ordered his warriors to interrogate any dwarfs by any means, but his company divulged Gygr's whereabouts indirectly among their captives, especially Ingrid and Destin. Both dwarven fugitives were then saved by the Æsir lord Havi, who was told of Gygr's whereabouts, which was west of Vangrinn. At the rendezvous point, Gygr was in his lynx form as he discussed Surtr's lack of knowledge of their actions with his warriors. However, they were found and attacked by Havi, who managed to kill both Gygr and his warriors. From Gygr's personal effects, Havi retrieved the Jotun Armor.[1]
