Giacomo Girolamo Casanova (2 April 1725 – 4 June 1798), simply known as Casanova, was an Italian adventurer and author during the 18th century.

During his travels, he made the acquaintance of various luminaries of his time, such as Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire, Goethe and Mozart.
