Francisco Pizzaro Gonzalez (1471 or 1476 - 26 June 1541) was a Spanish Conquistador whose conquests reached South America and the Incan Empire.
Pizzaro arrived in Peru in late 1532 with a small band of fellow conquistadors, ostensibly to find gold. In truth, he sought a Piece of Eden. In mid-November of that year, Pizzaro and his men arrived at the outskirts of the Inca city of Cajamarca. After being rebuked trying to be diplomatic with the Inca Emperor Atahualpa, who was staying in the city, Pizzaro decided to attack the Incas the next day.
