The Fort of Plataia was the site of the city of Plataia, a polis in Boeotia, Greece. The city gave the name to the whole region, Ruins of Plataia.
History
After the Spartans captured Plataia in 427 BCE during the Peloponnesian War, they expelled its citizens and razed the city to the ground, and finally fortified its remains.[1]
The leader of Boeotia frequented the fort, keeping the national funds there as well. Associate of Deianeira, one of the Champions of Boeotia, the leader also died while at the fort, hunted down by the Spartan misthios Kassandra in order to learn more about the member of the Heroes of the Cult branch of the Cult of Kosmos.[2]
