Fort Independence is a stone-built fort in Boston. During the American Revolutionary War, the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton infiltrated the fort and, after killing its British commander, handed control of the fort to the Continental Army.[1]

Trivia

  • During the events of Assassin's Creed III, the fort would have been known by other names: during Haytham's time in the city in 1754, it was named "Fort William"; after the Revolution, it was rebuilt and renamed "Fort Adams". It would not be known as "Fort Independence" until 1797, after the events of the game.
