The Followers of Romulus were cult followers of Romulus, the mythical founder of Rome. He and his brother Remus where, as said in the legend, raised by a wolf, and as a result, said to be half wolf and half man. This explains why the Followers' attire is a skinned wolf pelt. In Rome, the Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze will be able to go to six of their lairs to find out more about them, and to obtain their scrolls, which were located at a shrine inside the six locations.[1]

The Sons of Romulus are portrayed as powerfully-built, rather brutish men covered in wolfskin pelts, who attack viciously in large packs, just like wolves.

By exploring and completing all six of their lairs, Ezio will be able to obtain their secret armor which is stronger than most armor Ezio can purchase from a Blacksmith.
