Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service? This article has a lot of room for expansion. Please improve it with additional information in accordance with the Manual of Style |
Ale is a fermented malt beverage that is full-bodied and somewhat bitter with strong flavour and an aroma of hops. Popular in England, where the term is now synonymous with beer, ale was until the late 17th century an unhopped brew of yeast, water, and malt, beer being the same brew with hops added. It is similar to mead, the only difference being that it is much lighter in alcohol content. The Raven Clan shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir despised ale and preferred mead.[1]
Ale later became a popular drink at taverns in the Colonies during the 18th century.[2]
