Fernando Acosta is a freelance concept and storyboard artist from Bogotà, Colombia, currently residing in Vancouver, Canada.
Biography
Early life and career
Originally an electrical engineer in his home country of Colombia, Acosta decided to study at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, or VanArts for short, in 2005. A year later, he graduated and returned home, where he built up a concept art portfolio. Acosta eventually immigrated to Canada, gaining official citizenship there and working for a variety of companies.[1]
Following his work on several games at Digital Extremes, Acosta contributed to the feature film Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, being responsible for environment and mood paintings, as well as 3D layouts.[1]
Assassin's Creed
In 2014, Acosta worked remotely for Ubisoft for approximately a year, contributing to Assassin's Creed: Syndicate under the direction of art director Thierry Dansereau. He praised the collaboration with team members Hugo Puzzuoli, Grant Hillier, and Dan Vargas, describing it as one of the best work experiences in his career.
