Albert was a young cutpurse in the town of Bristol. The young man was employed by Edward Kenway to impress Caroline Scott in 1711.

Kenway gave Albert half a penny to present a bouquet of flowers to Caroline Scott. Albert used this opportunity to steal the lady's purse. Kenway tried to stop him after seeing his concealed blade, however, Albert stole the purse without alerting its owner. Before making an escape, he was spotted by Wilson and Matthew Hague, Caroline's suitor. Wilson grabbed Albert and beat him up. Seeing this, Kenway knocked out Wilson and had Albert apologize to Caroline before sending him away.
