The Euripos Strait is a thin ocean channel between the island of Euboea and Peloponnese, and it is mainly located in the region of Boeotia.
The principal port of the strait is Chalkis City.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the building of a bridge to cross the channel was begun, but its construction was opposed by Theramenes the Athenian. Around that time the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the place.[2]
