Eucherius (c. 380 – c. 449) was the Archbishop of the city of Lyon, France.[1] In one of Eucharius' many letters, he talked about the Roman Empire's outpost of Agaunum and how the 286 CE deaths of the Theban Legion, a group of 6,666 new Christian converts, made the place hallowed ground.[2]
