Eteokles was a figure in Greek mythology, son of Oedipous and brother of Polynikes.

Eteokles was renowned as the first to revere the Charites, the three graces.[1]

Following a dispute between the brothers over the rule of the city of Thebes, Eteokles exiled Polynikes. Some time later, Polynikes returned with an Argive army, led by seven leaders, to retake Thebes.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the Tomb of Eteokles in Sacred Plains of Demeter in Attika.[1]
