Ergon Blade-Tongue (died c. 800s) was a Viking warrior and leader to the Whale Clan.[1] He was the father of Bolli Ergonsson.[2]

Biography

Ergon and the Whale Clan were in constant battle with Rig Reidarasson's clan, their neighbour to the north.[1] One spring, Ergon accused Rig's family of using black seidr and they were captured and burnt alive. Though Rig vowed revenge for this vile act, King Hadon, at Ergon's urging, had issued an order of exile against Rig and his lover, Solveig. The pair packed their belonging and left at dusk, but snuck back into the village at night. The pair then killed Ergon and removed his leg as a trophy.[2]
