Elizabeth Scott was the wife of the Bristolian tea merchant and Templar Emmett Scott and the mother of Caroline Scott, subsequently making her the grandmother of Jennifer Scott.

Biography

While her husband disapproved of their daughter's marriage to Edward Kenway, Elizabeth was secretly happy for Caroline in having a positive marriage, something which Emmett and herself did not particularly possess. She was present during the wedding and tried to change her husband's mind when he decided to disown their daughter for her misalliance, but he didn't took her opinion into account. Some time after Edward's venture to the West Indies and Caroline's return to home, Caroline gave birth to Elizabeth's grand-daughter Jennifer.

In 1721, during his travels, Emmett contracted smallpox and passed the disease onto Elizabeth and Caroline. While her husband and herself eventually recovered from the affliction, Caroline grew weaker and weaker until she passed away, due in part to Emmett's arrogance. After her mother's death, Jennifer manifested the desire to contact her father and to inform him about Caroline's death and her own existence so Elizabeth helped her granddaughter. Keeping it a secret from her husband, she arranged for a letter wrote by Jennifer to reach Kenway and that the young girl embarks discreetly on a ship leaving for the caribbean sea.
