The Einherjar, also called the Swellers of Glory,[1] were those who had died in battle and were brought to Valhalla by Valkyries in Norse mythology.
Legacy
In the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's adventures in Svartálfaheimr, Odin's einherjar raiding crew of his ship Skíðblaðnir was personified as Eivor's real world crew for her Sea-Chariot.[2]
In the Viking expansion into England, a set of armor inspired by the Einherjar was made available to the Eivor through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved her memories in 2020.[3]
