Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1802 – 1873) was an English painter and sculptor.
In 1858, Landseer was commissioned to work on the lion sculptures at the base of Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, which depicts the famous battles fought by Admiral Horatio Nelson.[1]
