A Blade with Bite is a memory in Assassin's Creed II.

Description

After Ezio Auditore receives a Codex page from Lorenzo de' Medici, he travels to Leonardo da Vinci's workshop so that Leonardo can decode the Codex page. Once deciphered, Leonardo see's that the page shows Altaïr's designs for the Poison Blade and after a short amount of time passes for Leonardo to construct it, Ezio obtains the blade. Leonardo then tells Ezio that he can buy the poison from doctors, with the words "In large enough doses, that which heals, kills".

Walkthrough

Go to Leonardo da Vinci's workshop and after a moderately short cutscene, you will recieve the poison blade. If you have any other objectives in Florence, it is advised that you do them now, because after obtaining the blade, you will be leaving Florence for the rest of the sequence. Once ready, travel to Monteriggioni.

Outcome

Ezio adds the poison blade to his arsenal of weaponry.

Script (Incomplete)

• Lorenzo: When I was six years old I fell into the Arno. I soon found myself drifting down, and into darkness, certain my life was at an end. Instead I woke to the sound of my Mother weeping, and a stranger, soaking, smiling at me. And so began a long and prosperous relationship between two families; yours and mine. I am sorry I could not save your father and brothers.

• Ezio: You have nothing to apologize for. I believe Jacopo de' Pazzi played a part in their deaths. The attack on you as well. I need to find him.
• Lorenzo: That coward fled before we could arrest him!
• Ezio: Have you any leads?
• Lorenzo: No. They've hidden themseles well.
• Ezio: They?
• Lorenzo: Jacopo was not the only conspirator to escape.
• Ezio: If they work with Jacopo, they were surely involved in the plot against my family as well. Give me their names.
• Lorenzo: Antonio Maffei, Archbishop Francesco Salviati, Stefano da Bagnone, and Bernardo Baroncelli.
• Ezio: Bene. (Good) I will go and see my uncle. He has men stationed in the countryside.
• Lorenzo: Wait...before you go...(gives him a Codex page).
• Ezio: A Codex page!
• Lorenzo: I took it from the files for Francesco de' Pazzi, seeing as he no longer needs it. I've always had an interest of things of antiquity. As did your father.
• Ezio: It is meaningful to me as well.
• Lorenzo: Then consider it a gift! Che il Signore ci protegga. (God save us all)

Ezio goes to see Leonardo to decipher the Codex page.

• Leonardo: Ezio! Thank God you're all right! This madness with the Medici and the Pazzi, is this why you pursued Francesco?
• Ezio: Not exactly...
• Leonardo: Well, whatever your reasons, the city's safe again thanks to you! Now tell me: how may I be of service?
• Ezio: (gives him the Codex page)
• Leonardo: Ah! Another page! Aha! It's a similar cipher to the last one. This won't take long. Interesting....oh....indeed....I see...It's another blade design -- for delivering poison!
• Ezio: Can you build it?
• Leonardo: Si. (Yes) It won't take very long. I just need to find a way to hollow out the blade without sacrificing the --
• Ezio: It's alright, Leonardo. Just do what you need to do.

Leonardo builds the Poison Blade.

• Leonardo: All done! I've filled your blade with a bit of poison to start with. Should you run out, just visit a doctor.
• Ezio: Poison? From a doctor?
• Leonardo: In high enough doses, that which cures, can kill.
• Ezio: I am in your debt once more, my friend.
• Leonardo: Anytime, Ezio! Anytime!
