Abu al-'Abbas Aḥmad ibn Ṭalha al-Muwaffaq (died 902), better known by his regnal name al-Mu'tadid, was the sixteenth caliph of the Abbasid Empire from 892 to 902.[1]

During his reign, al-Mu'tadid followed in the footsteps of caliph Harun al-Rashid and had the Great Mosque of al-Mansur expanded and improved, making use of recently developed technologies and sciences.[2]
